Travelling home

A short entry today, my journey was mostly okay until just before boarding the second train I realised I had booked that one for the 5th and not the 6th of May! No ticket inspector on the train but the barriers were up when I got to Hull. I explained to the man on duty and had the Peterborough to Doncaster ticket that was on the right day! He was very good and let me through. Rachel had made me a pack up which was nice.

Darren and Tina were both at work when I got home but I noticed they had assembled the new bench to replace the one in front of the house that was rotting away!

The latest jigsaw has arrived in duplicate, I think the two subscriptions arrived at once! I will get in touch with the company but if I cannot change one I will do it again after the next five.

I only took two of my chargers away as the other two last longer but have been driving myself nuts this evening as the ones at home have disappeared!

Pandora is pleased to see me and has been on my lap, perhaps she hid the chargers as punishment!

Last day, another good one

I will start with a couple of photos from yesterday. One of me with my bubble tea and one of a cute Aurora yesterday evening.

This morning I went to the Sue Ryder field to give Aurora a walk. Not other dogs when we arrived so she was able to have quite a while off the lead which she enjoyed. I took a picture of the house as we made our way back to the car.

Anya gave me my birthday present yesterday, a lovely and colourful light weight jacket. It will look better with plain trousers.

Anya took me back to Rachel’s mid morning and then Rachel and Skip took me to Mikes this afternoon. We had an enjoyable couple of hours nattering, have done plenty of that this trip, and gave me some very cute earrings. Little otters, holding a heart.

Skip came and collected me and I had a very enjoyable time in the hot tub.

We had a lovely dinner and watched two films, Conclave and Darkest Hour. Both very good.

Off to bed now and travelling home tomorrow.

Dog park and The Dice Box

A good day, went with Anya to take Aurora to the dog park in Crowland. There were no other dogs booked in today but Aurora had us throwing balls and getting excited and had a good time.

We came back and Isobel joined us to have a trip into the city. There was a man playing the bagpipes whick Anya doesn’t care for but I quite like them.

Then we went to The Dice Box, a board game place. It was great, you could eat there as well and there were a great number of games to choose from.

We had a couple of hours there and before we came back Isobel wanted me to try a bubble tea. It was different but I did quite like it. Sucking up the tapioca pearls through the straw was strange!

We have watched a film and had a lovely dinner and now just relaxing. I am staying another night here.

More catching up

A short entry today and no photofest. Angie came for me at 9am and we went to a Harvester pub and had a very nice breakfast and a couple of hours bringing each other up to date as it has been a long time since we actually had any time together although we do write to each other regularly. Then she dropped me off at the Orton Centre where I met my niece and we had lunch and a couple of hours chatting. They have some good signs at the QD cafe.

We caught the same but but Rose got off much sooner than I did. When I got off the bus I walked to Rachel’s and then phoned to say I was there a could be ready when she wanted to come  and get me. A quiet and enjoyable evening, a mea and some tv. Going to the dog park with Anya in the morning.

Aurora remembers me now nd sat next to me while I watched tv.

Reasonable night and lovely visit

I slept quite well which was good and hd a bit of time with Rachel this morning then she drove me into Peterborough so  I could visit my sister. We had a lovely time, just generally talking about all sorts and the staff supplied me with drinks. I ended up staying with her for five hours. I had intended. To go in the city afterwards but just got Rachel to come and collect me. I looked in the park while I waited for her and took a picture, actually caught a squirrel on the shot!

I took some flower photos in Rachel’s garden. Her wisteria is beautiful, we have had ours for a few years, it isn’t even in left yet and it has never flowered!

A good journey down.

I was up and ready to go and vote before leaving for my trip to Peterborough. I got the recycling bin in and as I was in the garden took a picture of it looking it’s best, with the lawn cut yesterday and me weeding and doing all the edges on Tuesday.

These Californian poppies grow every year in a rough bit of ground in the walled garden, I haven’t had much success trying to get them into the flower beds.

I caught the 8.40am but into Hull, not too busy which was good, I was dozing a bit as I usually do on the bus journeys as they are over an hour and I cannot read on buses. But it terminates in Hull so no danger of missing my stop!

The trains were both on time and not too busy, so no trouble finding a space for the case. No dozing on either train as I am reading the second ‘Grace’ book and really enjoying it.

Rachel was waiting for me at the station and we have spent a lot of time catching up and all three of their children came in to see me with their partners and of course more chatting with Skip when he was home from work.

Rachel was minding Olivia and James’s adorable dog so will finish with a couple of pics of him.

Taking it easy

I had a bad night, aching legs and neck, so much for exercise making you fit! I did go to the banking hub and the shops first thing and called in at Botany Boutique to get some advice on repotting a plant. Apart from that it has been a day of a bit of housework and getting packed and sitting snoozing with the cat!

The weird plant has now opened.

I have enjoyed using my Gtech strimmer, I never did get on with the ones that had a reel of wire! My one is very different and I need some new plaid cutters. Straight from the company fifty cost £3.99  and free postage, can’t be bad.

When I was filling the watering cans I noticed a dandelion clock that still had the end of the dead flower attached.

I will water the garden when the sun goes down, hopefully Tina or Darren will do some watering if there is no rain on the horizon. Off for the journey to Peterborough after I have voted in the morning,
