I tidied up the front garden yesterday evening and watered both gardens. The sea holly which I planted as a very small plant is now looking great. I love sea holly!
Today we all set off to be at the church for 9.30 am to help set up the summer fete/fun day. Tina and I were set up at the end of Gails stall so that we could help her out as she had a great deal of jewellery to sell.
Gail had fetched a very silly pink wig along, and the only one silly enough to actually wear it was me!
We sold a few of the ceramic decorations but not the storage bags. Gail did pretty well with her 'bling'. I did a quick sketch, just a suggestion of the day really.
It remained fine, but was quite windy and we were in the shade so I actually put my cardigan on! Quite a few people came along and it seemed like everyone had a good time.

I went swimming this morning, but otherwise have stayed in today. I started making some hoop storage bags for the church summer fete yesterday evening and finished them off today. I messed up the trims to start with as I couldn't find the glue gun and used super glue which stained the trim! Then found the glue gun, so ripped it all off and did it again, luckily I had enough extra trim.
Then I finished off threading ribbons through the ceramic decorations. Tina and I both painted some of the decorations before they were fired and the plan is that I will write names on tomorrow in Sharpie pen. The pens do not rub off but they are not permanent and will wash off.
We picked up one twig at The Mere yesterday and I found another small one this morning to hand the decorations on. Then I made a couple of signs so I think we are about good to go.
I am watch Andy Murray, who is it seems, about to go out of this years Wimbledon. Hasnpt played badly, Federer has just been unstoppable!

Yesterday evening at the craft class we made the storage bags on an embroidery hoop. A larger hoop and they turned out quite well. Here is mine.
The postcard entries for the exhibition/sale at Woodend gallery needed to be delivered as tomorrow is the final submission day. I never did find the one I did but Linda made five and Sue made one so I got them delivered.
The garden at Woodend looked great!
I went off then to meet Anne and her mum, she had been in the hostel I ran in the early 1990's and we have kept in touch. They had come to Scarborough on holiday. We had a coffee at the hotel and then took a walk along the front. There were lots of seagulls like this one in a pool on the sand, seemingly paddling!
A picture of Anne and her mum and one of Anne with me.
When I got home Tina took me to Deans garden centre as I am almost out of wild bird seed. We had a look at the plants of course, and I bought a couple. We heard loud bird song near up and to our delight it was a little wren only a few feet away. No time to get the camera out but so lovely. One plant was really attracting the bees.
A few Swifts live there, you can tell this in one by the tail!!
Then we stopped at The Mere and walked round the lake. Took this water lily and I think a water boatman!

Yesterday evening I did a painting of Audrey Hepburn, decided to do it in browns as I didn't want a direct copy of the photo.
I told you yesterday that I had collected a package for Darren. He was in quite late last night but came up with a present for me, it had been in the parcel. I made my day as it is a 'Brian' and I have wanted one for ages!!
When I was in town yesterday I bought some transfer paper in the pound shop and although I didn't have a plain white t shirt I decided to try and get my Marilyn bead picture onto a blue one. Even managed to work out doing a mirror image!
This morning I did go swimming and read the timetable right this time! The flowers on the walk are looking lovely so took a few pictures.
I went to the button class this afternoon, it was a little strained as the newest member is very demanding and upsetting the rest of the group. Sue worked on a nice little tree picture.
It all kicked off a bit unpleasantly at the end so if it keeps up may not be doing it for much longer! On a brighter note I have been to the craft class this evening and it was very enjoyable. I made one of the embroidery hoop storage bags, will take a photo tomorrow.

This morning I walked up to the swimming pool but had misread the timetable and couldn't get in! Ah well, a walk at least! I put the first coat of paint on a canvas and then had a cup of tea and a chat with Tina when she got home from her trip down south. She dropped me off at the ceramic studio, as I had the new pieces to take and also some material to drop off at the community centre. Had a chat with Sandy and ended up painting the little pig money box, decided to not dress it up but just as a plain little pig.
Today was obviously destined to be piggy day as Tina brought me a cute little wooden one.
I dropped off the material and said hi to the ladies in the sewing class then went and got a few bits in town. Collected a package for Darren on my way home. This afternoon Britannia, the latest and largest P & O cruise ship was due to pass Scarborough on it's maiden voyage. It was early, but I did get there in time to see it. Took this from the cliff top.
I zoomed in for a bit more detail.
Then I raced down the cliff (well, my version of racing) and took a couple of pictures from the beach.
Then the last one as it approached the cliff and went on it's way to Whitby.

I bought three pieces of pottery to paint at the ceramic studio I used to go to in Peterborough so that I can paint them at the studio up here. The dragon is a good size as you can tell by the cushions behind it.
This morning I sorted out washing and changed the bed and went to Sainsbury's for supplies, before setting off for button class. I am not enjoying it quite so much at the moment as the newest member is very demanding and complains about everything and everyone! Norma was there as well, but although she needs a little support is no trouble at all. Today her canvas was an ice cream cone.
Linda was working on a single seagull canvas for the maritime museum.
.There is a bush in the front garden that has just started producing pink flowers. The bees were out in numbers around the bush which was great to see.
The nasturtiums that I grew from seed are flowering now, and so far no blackfly which were always a problem with them in Peterborough.
The fuchsia but is lovely this year now that it is not being choked by all those reedy plants!

This morning I packed up my belongings and went to the entrance to wait for Rachel. She was coming over to take me to her temporary home at Tallington Lakes, a place I had never been before. Outside the hotel were lavender bushes and many bees in attendance. took lots of blurred pics again, this one is a bit blurred too but I like it!
The lodge they are staying in is right by the lakes and absolutely fantastic. If you have to move out of your house for a while I cannot imagine a better place! Two views from their decking.
One of me feeding the geese from the deck, One of Rachel's sons feeds them regularly so once people are about they head over!
Rachel took me over to Michelle's and she cooked me a very nice lunch and then we went to the Orton Centre where I met up with Darren as I was getting a lift home this time which made a nice change.
