This sign was in town, an interesting one this time.
After a good wander round I went to have a snack at the Waterstones cafe. While there I saw a fabulous tote bag, not that I need one, and I looked at the books on photography. Going to read up first, I would like to take ‘proper’ photos but don’t want to go spending money on a whim again!
So two nice things bought with the gift card.
On the bus I had spotted a painted rat outside the library, so I walked back that way to take a photo. Coming home on the bus I spotted another one so will have to find out how many there are.
I bought a scented jasmine t the stall in the station, haven had one for a while and it will smell lovely when the flowers open.
The first foxglove, a self sown one by the front door, is the first one to flower.
I have decided not to water the gardens tonight, it was cloudy for most of the day although it is bright and sunny again now. I watered the bonsai trees when dinner was cooking. I am thinking of going into the greenhouse and potting up some seedlings, but that might not happen!
You always enjoy a trip into Hull, even if it does occasionally take a little longer than usual.
ReplyDeleteI would have thought the offer would be buy a bikini bottom and get a top free. I’m sure a few of the ladies wouldn’t bother with the top 🙄 Not that I’d ever go anywhere they were wearing, or not wearing them 😉😇
They do have lots of funky thing in Hull, like the cycle network sign. It’s a great place.
Looks like you spent the gift card well. A lovely bag, which you can never have too many of and what looks like a good photography book. What is a proper photo? You take some great pics regardless of which camera you use. I’ve always said so. You have an artists eye when it comes to composing pics. You can only get better though if you read up on some good tips and tricks. I look forward to seeing more great compositions.
It appears that Hull is going to do for rats what Hornsea did for puffins.
Good job you bought the tote bag as it was idea for carrying your plant home 🙂 I love the smell of Jasmine and Hyacinths.
One night without watering won’t do any harm. I imagine you’ve done more than your fair share of jobs already today!
I do always enjoy a trip into Hull, usually somehing of interest catches my eye.
ReplyDeleteI had thought about the photography book before I got to Waterstones, so seeing that bag in there was a bonus.
Weirdly I don’t really mind the long bus ride into Hull and although I was nodding off I managed to be awake both ways when we drove down Dancing Lane. That always makes me smile.
