It was a really good workshop, just four of us and a friendly group. We had demonstrations of cutting and had a practice, but you didn’t need to cut if you weren’t confident as there were all sorts of ready cut and fused pieces. I did one sort of seascape, there were lots of samples of those.
I finished quite quickly and she said I had time to do a second piece. I decided to do a butterfly with ready cut and pre-fused bits. The instructor said she hadn’t had anyone do a butterfly before.
There are no more workshops during the summer, they will start again in September and I will get and email with details. Now I have seen what sort of stuff is available I can perhaps come up with some ideas. I took a photo of the second tamari’s on the way back.
I nipped round to see Sher as I had a couple of nice bowls she could use for arrangements and some very long tweezers. She was amused that I had kept the ‘twig’ in water for so long and she had found two more packs with cuttings inside at the back of a drawer and said if anyone could propagate them it was me! So here we go again!
My complete propagation tray!
Not gardening or watering this evening, I had a broken night and feeling weary now. I an cat free at the moment so can go and get a drink soon.
The tamarix is starting to look a bit fluffy. It’s a great colour.
ReplyDeleteI love both the glass pieces you did. I think out of the two the butterfly jumps out at me. Very nice. I can see why you enjoyed the workshop. Definitely something for you to do again, and as you say you can start thinking about it now you have a better idea.
Ah, I get the title now 🙂 You have become the propagation queen from the sounds of it. Let’s hope you can get them to grow some roots too 😊 🌱
I hope your quiet evening goes to plan. Cat free for a while is a bonus.

I really enjoyed the workshop and may get the pieces back by the end of the week. I won’t hold my breath that the latest cuttings will grow roots, they have be shut in a drawer for weeks, I am surprised they haven’t shrivelled up and died already! I did snip the dried ends off so they can get some water quickly.🤞
