More rain so no watering

I have been thankful for the rain, especially as it is mostly at night, the plants are looking happy and I try to ignore the happy weeds! Sun this morning though and I took a photo of this flower when I went into the garden to check the sunflowers. Despite the strong wind yesterday and rain they are all still standing at the moment.
I went to the banking hub to pay in some coins and when I got home I got the luggage thing(don’t now it’s proper name) and dropped it onto the four wheels to take the box and  other bits left over from Saturday to the charity shop. There is a slope by the  shop and the luggage thing started to roll towards the road and parked cars. I couldn’t grab it but luckily it went between two cars without hitting either of them!
I did go into the garden to get the last ten plants into a bed, and it rained for a while afterwards which was good timing.
The new plants re quite small but hopefully they will flourish now.
Getting lunch I managed to cut my thumb with Tina’s super sharp bread knife, I do have a bit of a history with knives!
I went to see Sarah and David for a while this afternoon, I will see them again tomorrow as the dementia cafe as it is button time!
This evening I have been in church on bodyguard duty while Tina had a wedding rehearsal. Luckily no intruders so all is well!

  1. The rain is so much better for the garden, and for you. At least if it’s at night you can still do a bit of gardening during that if you feel like it. The flower is a beautiful colour. Sort of makes all the gardening worthwhile….ish! 😊
Normally that would be a sack barrow. But with the extra capability of the fold down platform I’m not sure. I can imagine it taking off on its own…….yes, I’m chuckling, sorry 😂
So, how many more plants do you think you’ll need to fill all those beds? Can’t be many more surely? If the rain comes regular for a few days the new plants will soon bed in. Hopefully it’ll just rain on the plants and not the weeds!
You’re not at all safe around knives, or anything sharp! Could have been worse I suppose. I hope it won’t hamper you picking up buttons tomorrow. Hope it all goes well, I’m sure it will.

  2. Not many more plants needed. The flower is a new one to the garden, it is one of the many bulbs I planted!
Sack barrow, that rings a bell, but this one is heavy because of the fold down platform, and no brakes!
Hopefully I won’t be picking up many buttons myself tomorrow, unless, as you suggested one of the party Susan’s hits the deck!
