WI garage sale

The garage or garden sale organised by the local WI as a fundraiser has become a summer tradition. You pay five pounds to get on the map which people can collect on the morning of the event. Over forty houses took part this year.
MI was outside for about six hours and Darren and Tina took turns to come and keep me company. They did both go for a wander though and Darren got me a lampshade and a wooded carved owl. He was thinking about the lamp that I won in the museum raffle but the fitting is in the wrong place, mlthough you could use it as an uplighter!
Tina got me two nice little succulents.
Nearly forgot the owl!
My right knee has been very iffy today which isn’t good. Hopefully I just slept awkwardly.
I think I mentioned that I got some plastic party Susan’s and have been seeing if I have enough buttons. The photos show four, but I made up six.
I am a bit short of blue and purple ones so I have ordered some more, then I will be putting all the groups of buttons into money bags! The things I get myself into!
I should say that I sold a vast amount of the stuff I had collected together and also made a nice amount of money, so worth the effort.

  1. It’s good the weather wasn’t too bad for the sale. It would have been a shame if it had been called off. You now have slightly less clutter…..until you buy more that is 😂 I really like your new owl…..definitely not clutter. It’s ornamental. Shame about the lampshade, but it’d certainly be different as an uplighter. You’ll have to try it out later when it gets dark.
Those buttons must be driving you mad by now. Yes, you do get yourself involved in things! There’s a little two lettered word you’re allowed to use occasionally 😊 I’m betting someone will knock one of those Susans onto the floor before you finish the workshop. I hope I’m not right 🙂
Not a bad day really. Got rid of some stuff, got some new stuff and some money…perfect.

  2. Not a bad day at all, really did sell a lot of stuff and the prices were low so folk got some bargains too.
I will be glad when the workshop is behind me rather than in front. I will let you know if one goes flying!
We will go to the boot sale in the morning if it isn’t raining.
