This and that

I finished my book yesterday so now I have started the Liane Moriarty novel, her latest one and Anya and I both like her books.
I went out to top up the bird baths and walk round the garden and the birds were singing. I have an app that identifies the birds and I have five different ones today. Manage to take a screen shot!
I still haven’t found the missing charging cables, I found an email address on the watch instructions and have messaged. It didn’t bounce back so fingers crossed I get a reply. I did a bit of sorting and took two bag over to the charity shop.
This afternoon I set off early to go to Jeans and thought I would have an ice cream way. I thought I was buying a double caramel but when I went to open the packet it was actually a vegan one. It was really good, couldn’t tell it was made with soya.
I walked through the memorial garden and I was taking a photo of the knitted poppy display when a lady asked if I would like to be in the picture.
Took another picture too, Hornsea really does a good job with remembrance days.
It was a bright day but still the cool wind by the sea.
Jean was in quite good spirits today which was great, she plans to get back to her church duties soon.
Off out to do the watering in a bit,

  1. I really must try to get back into reading. Had a long stint a while ago, but it’s been ages since my last book. Now I don’t watch as much tv I really should make the effort. I’ll remember Liane Moriarty 🙂
The app sounds good. Is that five different sound samples, or do you just let it run and it listens for lots of different ones? Very clever. What’s it called?
I wonder where the charging cables went. It’s one of those life mysteries, like where do the flies go in winter 🙂 They’ll turn up as soon as you get new ones!
I could eat a magnum now. Might try a vegan one another day. Maybe I’ll see one while I’m out over the weekend.
The poppies look lovely. Is the whole thing knitted, or is it knitted poppies fixed to a background? I heard on the radio that they were putting the 30000 glass poppies back at the Tower of London.
It has been a nice day today. Got very hot at one point. I hope it stays hot for tomorrow as I have a lot of stalls to walk around! 🙂
It would be nice if Jean could get back to her church duties as I know she loves doing it. Will she be fit enough to do it?
Bet you’re wishing for rain so it’ll be less watering 🙂

  2. I
The app is Cornell Lab and I just press record and it runs and picks up the birds near by. I was only out a short while so five different bird calls was nice. Anya introduced me to the app and on the walk with her on Sunday we picked up a green woodpecker and a sedge warbler.
The poppies are knitted nd fixed to netting I think.
It would be good to get some rain, none forecast for a while though.
