On Thursday morning I was at the station for 8.45 am ready to catch the train to Driffield to see Brian and Hazel for a couple of days. They met me the other end and we had a wander round Driffield before heading off to Wetwang, which is where they were actually staying. The cottage was lovely, in a small village that didn't even boast a village shop! Hazel opening up the picturesque cottage when we arrived.
After lunch we went for a walk round the village, there was a path right round that avoided the main road completely. Very rural.
A picture of Hazel and Brian on the walk.
We passed this lovely little church.
The rest of the day we chatted and generally caught up on each others news. Yesterday we went out for the day. First stop was Kilnwick Percy Hall and Buddhist Temple. Very lovely setting in the middle of nowhere. The building looked worn on the outside but it was very lovely, and restful inside.
You were allowed in the temple and it was very vibrant.

The we headed off to Pocklington, had a coffee in the town and a bit of a wander and then went to visit Burnby Hall Gardens. A truly lovely place and we had a very nice lunch there as well.
There were lots of paths going off to 'secret gardens', this photo of Brian and I was taken in one of them.
The lake was beautiful  and really clear.
Brian and Hazel by the lake.
Burnby is famous for it's water lilies but they are at the best in the height of the summer.
Had to take a picture of the funky webs.
We didn't get fish food from the shop but the fish come to the surface anyway as they are obviously fed a lot.

Brian posed by these great statues of giraffes.
A final picture of Hazel and Brian before we left the cottage.
Today They took me to Driffield station and Darren collected me this end. Darren and Tina are heading off on their holiday tonight and Mike is coming up for a visit for a couple of days tomorrow.
