I have developed a head cold sore throat and very irritating cough, but there are a lot going around so I am not too surprised. I did a bit of sorting out this morning and then decided to go down to the sea as it was a lovely morning and the promised wind hasn't arrived yet. I walked through the park on the way there and saw this leaf, bit sure if it is bugs embedded in it but I had never noticed one like it before.
Another leaf had a couple and it was facing the other way so was able to see that whatever they are are 'in' the leaf rather that 'on' it.
I took my book and read sitting on the sea wall for a bit and then had a walk on the beach and over to the rock pools. I took lots of pictures because the just looked so dramatic, but will just post a small selection. This was the castle beyond the rock pools.
Then a couple of general shots of the pools and the sea.
My shadow was long in the autumn sun, so had to take this one!
I spotted a bird out at sea that was definitely not a regular sea gull, sitting on a rock motionless for ages. I got as close as I could and was still a good way away so had to really zoom in to the maximum. Not a very clear shot but fairly sure it was a cormorant.
The last picture today is a bit of fun really, we have all heard of Footprints in the Sand, well this one is Hoofprints in the Sand!!
Not sure what that is on those leaves, but it a good picture anyway. Love the one of the rock pools with the castle behind!
ReplyDeleteYes, a very different picture of the castle to add to the collection.
