The day wasn't quite as planned. I got the paving slabs in from the car and put one of them in the space I had left in the first flower bed sorted in the back garden.
I went off to help out at the studio and called in to see Sandra at the craft shop on the way. She said there will be no class tonight as I was the only one who had signed up. She gave me a large package of wrapping paper to take to the studio. When I got there the shop was closed due to a family emergency. The paper was heavy, but I took it back and Sandra let me sit down and made me a drink!! We chatted about machine embroidery which she hadn't ever done and I did more years ago than I care to remember. I went into town and asked in Boyes about machine embroidery, but they were pretty blank as well, so I am no further forward. I went to see a new craft shop at the vaults underneath the market, noticed this relief sign which I hadn't really looked at before on the market building wall.
The lady in the new shop actually does machine embroidery, how strange is that? So had a good natter with her. The button group was good as usual, five ladies and very different stuff going on. The parrot is almost finished.
Mr Grey is well on the way as well. Linda will fill in the gaps with tiny grey beads.
There is an exhibition of post card sized art at a local gallery in the summer so I started a sunflower and the other ladies are going to think of subjects so that we can field a few entries.
The paving slab looks great and I'm sure it will be invaluable, all the button pictures are coming along nicely, love Mr Grey.(Cleaver idea).
