Last night I did some hand quilting on the patchwork, not by any means perfect, but I am happy with it as a first attempt.
I picked some large, dead, thistle type flower heads at the community centre yesterday, and was inspired to put pencil to paper for the first time in a while.
This morning I went to the community centre but sadly Lucy wasn't in today, but Jo was there and told me she had bought some inexpensive canvases at B & M. I came home and asked Tina if she fancied a trip out and then get a bit of lunch. She was happy to take a trip, no canvases at the shop but we bought quite a lot of other stuff! Then we bought quite a bit at Irton Garden Centre as well! Took a couple of rather silly pics!

We had a very nice lunch and I took this picture near the loos.
When we got home I took another walk into town as I wanted to get a couple of tester paint pots to use on canvases as I want to have a go at painting the thistle things. Called in to see Sandra and she has lined up a six week course for learning to quilt properly so have registered my interest. On the way back I called into a shop called Fandangles to see if they ever have any left over beads that we could have for the craft class. She was a lovely lady who has made most of the items in her shop. I did buy some earrings, no surprise there to people who know me, and she gave me a few beady things and said to call back in about a month when she will have collected a few more bits for me.
