Visits and a wasted walk

 I was up a bit later today, not too surprised as I was very tired last night. I went to see Bel and I remembered to take my latest jigsaw for her to do. She was a bit down in the dumps today, but we had a good chat and a cuppa. When I left her I popped along to see Sher at the shop. She is organising a craft event in the parish hall this evening and tomorrow.

Tina and I had lunch at the community cafe that opens in the parish hall three times a week. The ‘special’ on todays menu was very tasty sausage meat pie.

A thought I would walk up to Tesco and send a package before collecting my prescription and walking to Jeans. When I got there the boxes where you put the parcels was out of use, so I walked back into the town and collected my prescription and dropped them off at home. Then set out to walk to Jeans. Nearly all the leaves have fallen now, but still some autumn colour.

I walked by the sea, a very grey day today.

This seagull actually started to walk towards me when I was going to take a photo. Will post all three.

Jean seemed quite bright, I hadn’t seen her for a couple of weeks. They have a buyer for their house, but the bungalow they were interested in has been bought. So now they need to be viewing more properties.

Terry drove me home as usual. The parcel that was being collected had got a bit damp with the rain, hopefully no damage to the books inside.

A couple if days ago Pandora bit me and one puncture bled a lot, so I have had a plaster over it. I am going to leave it open now and hope I don’t knock it. Nice set of teeth marks!

This evening Tina and I were going to go to the craft fair together. She had gone into church so I tried taking a picture while I waited for her.

Not so smart and a volcano!

 I keep forgetting to say that almost two weeks go I lost my smart watch, pity it had a not so smart owner! I still can keep an eye on my steps as long as I remember to have my phone in my pocket! Have done over 15.000 today which is a lot by my standards.

The glass fusing shop doesn’t open until ten so I decided to have a walk and time it so that I got back to the shop as it opens. The mahonia in the front garden has really stunning blooms and they are just about open enough to release their scent.

I walked off towards Tesco, the stream I pass still isn’t a stream even though we have had some rain now.

I got to the glass fusing place just on ten and Stan, one of the owners was just sweeping up. I am really pleased with the way the volcano has turned out. One photo flat on white paper nd another one with the light behind. Photos with the light behind look much darker that it actually appears to the eye.

Tina helped my get another batch of books scanned to sell and then we drove to a farm shop to stock up with meat. We brought the meat home and into the freezer then we walled to Cafe Eden to have lunch and from there walked on and along the road and wandered round the closed cemetery, closed as in no more burials, it was of course open to walk round.

We discovered four war gives in there and Tina will check that they are registered. As we were leaving there were some great fungi.

After that we walked along the trail and to the new cafe on the front to get a drink. At a house just before we arrived had a fun front garden.

We watched a bit of tv when we got home, and I started sorting through my cds.

Chores and a little gardening

 I spent the morning do odd jobs and some washing but did pop out to see Sher a Botany Boutique. She had got the latest lot of Prop Squad cuttings so I now have the latest one in water. A couple of the others have really good roots now.

This afternoon I went into the garden and hoed a bed ready to plant the contents of one of the planters in the front garden. A man had asked Tina if he could park his van on the drive as he was working over the road. He clipped one of the planters but did tell us and said he would pay for a replacement. That was a first, two of the others have been hit but no one told us about it. When I hoed the bed I noticed that the miniature pampas I had planted there as it was being overrun with couch grass where it had been plant, had produced on grass!

The planter was well broken!

This yucca was just a wee shoot when I planted it there about seven years ago, now it is nearly as tall as me.

I did take some unused medication to the chemist, I have meant to do that for a while.

I will collect nt fused glass piece in the morning.

Fused glass class

 This morning I took my design and templates along to the fused glass workshop. I was beginning to think I may have bitten off more than I can chew but I got back into the cutting okay. Jude just left me to get on with it, she had sorted out the colours that I had wanted. I will get the fired piece back on Thursday. Her classes are all full for this year, so won’t be doing anymore for a while.

I am really looking forward to seeing it fused.

This afternoon I had an appointment with the nurse at the surgery for a blood test and blood pressure check, or that is what I expected, but they said I was down for an ECG as well! The results will all be back by Friday. I did take some photos on the way there.

The Dove House charity shop always do nice window displays. I liked this one but especially because the round tapestry picture was donated by me, it was made by a lady in her nineties that I used to visit many years ago. I had always had it on display until a few weeks ago.

I have been feeling really tired today and I keep feeling sick. I think my gall stone is playing up. Did get more indigestion tablets on the way home.

Nothing planned for tomorrow which is good. Maybe the latest jigsaw will arrive.

Cakes and visit

 Out early to post some letters then in the kitchen to start getting marzipan on the cakes, at least on the ones going to Peterborough as the need to be finished before I go to America. The local ones I can finish when I get back from delivering the ones down south. I had made a large square cake to cut into three smaller cakes and forgot and covered it in marzipan. One of the recipients didn’t want it decorated. I decided to cut it into three and wrapped the centre piece and wrapped it. Then I patched up the other two pieces with more marzipan, when they have the icing on the people who get them will be none the wiser!

I went to see a Sarah and David this afternoon. Sarah had a dreadful experience at the dentists last week and is still getting a lot of pain. We had a chat and David said he is getting on reasonably well with the rollator so I am leaving it with them for now.

T have got my design for the glass fusing tomorrow, I will cut one of them up to be able to draw round on the glass.

Rosie came to do a handover with Tina this evening and Pandora jumped straight on her lap.

I have a blood test tomorrow and blood pressure check. I haven’t checked it as that will just make it go even higher!

Nearly forgot!

 I was away somewhere else in my mind and have only just remembered that I haven’t done the blog!

We didn’t go to the boot sale as it was wet and miserable but it turned into a lovely day. I went for a walk doing a circuit including the sea front. This rainbow on the pavement made me think of my childhood, you don’t see them much now

After lunch I sorted out more books to sell on line and general sorting before getting dinner. Have been watching tv and have only just got a cat on my lap. Will finish with an unusual building feature sent to me by Anya.

A bit more active

 I went early as usual to get the rolls for lunch then waited until the shopping arrived. Then I set of for a walk, heading to the sea front first then along the trail and calling in at Tesco on the way home. I took my rucksack as I intended to buy some marzipan. It was a very cold wind and the first photo is of pampas getting blown about.

I bought marzipan and apricot jam plus some honey. I am glad I didn’t buy more than that as I really struggle with the weight of the rucksack on the walk home.

This afternoon I did some washing and managed to shorten the trousers I abandoned a few days ago.

Tina had ordered some flowers for a service tomorrow but when the church warden dropped in she said they had been ordered. So I got some nice flowers by default.

Tina got lovely gifts from the church members as they had really missed her, she had a bouquet, a fruit and veg box and a Ringtons gift set with a lovely card.

I have watched Strictly, there were some very good dancers.

We will go to the boot sale in the morning as long as it is fine.
