Goodbye and rest the leg!

This morning Michelle and Julie went for a really early walk and managed to catch the sunrise.
When they got back they had breakfast and then set about packing for their journey home. But they did find time for us to have a photo in front of the jigsaw. They have taken one of the 500 piece puzzles home with them.
I went over to the bus stop with them and saw them off. They had a good journey and got back without any trouble. I then walked down to the cash point near the Coop. I really struggled with that short distance, very lucky that I had a better day on Thursday as I certainly wouldn’t have got round the animal park today!
So, I have done a lot of sitting today but the pain hasn’t got a lot easier. I do hope that I can manage a bit of a walk in the morning if we go to the boot sale.
When we went to Freeport yesterday Darren got me this pack, nice and sensible, will take a photo when I open the up!
Not sure whether I will sleep on the recliner tonight. Probably will even though I would like to be in the bed, but is the leg is painful while I sit here that doesn’t bode well.

Much less active!

Not endless photos today!
The leg has not been very good, the more pills the more pain it seems!
A lot of jigsaw today but Darren drove up up to Freeport where we had a coffee and looked in some shops. Sadly the nativity hasn’t made an appearance there yet! I did manage to all from one end to the other, but was really struggling so Darren walked back down and collected the car so that I didn’t have to walk back.
Michelle and Julie went out for a walk to the sea front this afternoon and then they cooked dinner for us all which was very kind and very tasty.
After tea we finished the jigsaw, as they had both become avid puzzlers and are going to take a couple of mine home with them!
As I have nothing else to write about I will add a photo from a three year ago memory that came up. I did make a lot!
The twins are setting off for home tomorrow, it has been lovely spending some time with them, hopefully they will make another trip now they have made it here and know the journey isn’t too bad.

Lovely visit to Filey Bird garden

Tina took Julie and Michelle to look at the church after morning prayers but she wasn’t feeling too well so she didn’t come out with us so Darren kindly took us to Filey Bird Garden. With the rollator I actually managed to get most of the way round, but I didn’t go into the lovely garden at the end as the leg was really complaining by then. They had some displays for Halloween which were quite good. I didn’t take lots of animal pics this time, but some. I put my head in one of the sill photo opportunity boards, and then Michelle and Julie joined in!
We had lunch at Eastfield garden centre on the way home. We worked on the jigsaw for a while this afternoon and the we went and had fish and chips by the sea.
After we had eaten Darren seascapes home and the ladies went up to look at the sea at Mappleton. The erosion is still happening, the second photo had Tina and Julie up the bank and Michelle on her way to join them, I was doing as little walking as possible by this time!
Final photo is a bit arty, these two snails were at the top of one of the posts where I was standing!
We have chatted and watched tv this evening. Big thank you to Darren for being a charming chauffeur and to Tina for a lovely finish to the day.

Goodbye to a tree and hello to friends

Apart from the fact that the more pills I take the worse the leg gets it has been an good day. Tina had got a copy of a Driffield paper that had done a brilliant write up about the pet blessing service, my friend Angela had taken Georgie, her newly acquired chihuahua along and ended up getting her photo on the front page as well as in the article. A really lovely picture of her too.
Martin of Taylor Tree Care arrived with his team to attack the bay tree, which had been left too long to just be tidied up. A series f photos, one not too well in focus, but it was drizzling by then so that’s my excuse!
And there it was gone, almost!
The twins arrived just after 2 pm, we had a lot of catching up to do! So lovely to see them. Tina had a friend here at tea time so the twins and I got dinner for us all and then we just had an evening chatting and watching a bit of tv.
Tina is off tomorrow so we may get to go out for a bit, Darren is off work too.

Worth a try

This morning I went with Angela ot the garden centre. We had breakfast which was very nice, then Angela went to buy a couple of things and we had a coffee and chatted for a bit longer. I stayed put a the leg is still painful and this morning I took the decision to stop feeding the birds for now. That is a shame, but by the time I have walked down the garden to get the food I need a sit down already so feeding them has become a miserable experience and then the leg is set off for the rest of the day.
Managed to get a pair of garden clogs which were reduced, Angela went and got them for me when she did her shopping. Then on the way out we passed the wooden model kits and she bought me one as an early Christmas gift. I won’t start it until the tins have had their visit.
Angela’s handy Nan friend called round at lunch time and is hopefully gong to fix my toilet in the morning,
Jayne came with her petrol strimmer and did some tidying round the edges of the garden, also got the last few plants in for me,
Doctors appointment this afternoon, luckily Tina could take me and Angela brought me home. Don’t think I would have managed walking there today,
Now a double up of the pills I have been taking, that is the maximum dosage and she has also prescribed some gel I can use three times a day. As I said in the title, worth a try! She also said that ai should do a week of checking my blood pressure as now , if it is high, I won’t get the surgery, seems like one obstacle after another. She said the medication can be tweaked if necessary.
Have finished off in the guest room and done some chores, also some jigsaw with my unhelpful furry friend!
Not sure when the twins are arriving, but it will be good to see them.

Quiet day

Very short entry this evening as I haven’t done a great deal and haven’t been out. Added to that the leg has been pretty painful and I have had an upset tummy, over did the laxative drinks that your u take when prescribed codeine!
I keep meaning to mention the Christmas cakes, did the feed today, number eight I think and they are getting nice and dark.
I did a few household chores and started getting the guest room ready for my friends. So bed changed and airbed blown up, need to move the air era etc out tomorrow and hoover.
My toilet has decided to to working, Darren has tried to see what the problem is but cannot fix it,
I have spent some time on the jigsaw, a couple of animals are taking shape.
Will keep trying to sleep on the recliner for now.

Boot sale but bad leg day!

I went to the boot sale with Darren and got to ride in his very smart and comfortable new car. He is obviously very pleased with it.
Not a big spending day, in fact a 50 p day! The cd has various female artists, the card collecting books brought back memories of my children collecting cards from PG Tips! The book Darren went and got for me so that ai had something to read when I had done all the walking I could manage!
Darren drove back via the sea where we had a drink before coming home.
My leg has been very sore today and feeling like it was in real danger of giving out, so haven’t been in the garden, not even to feed the birds.
Managed some chores and getting dinner plus some jigsaw, but a lot of sitting with feet up as well.
I have friends hoping to come up for a visit in the week so hopefully will feel a bit more able to get rooms ready etc tomorrow!
