Nothing if not a trier!

This morning I could see from the sky that it would have been a lovely sunrise today. I took one picture, got up on the bench to try and see a bit more!

Lunny had gone down to the sea so did get a picture of sunrise too!

As I managed a bit more walking yesterday thought I would try and keep it up. I walked up to Freeport and arranged to meet Tina up there at lunch time and then come home with her. Soon had to use the walking stick again, but it does help and I got there and had quite a good shop, getting some presents in and a new jigsaw tin The Works and a fun sticker!

Took a couple of photos on the way there.

Rain had been forecast later, but it was a very nice day so we were lucky.

May start the puzzle later. Tina took this photo when we were waiting for our lunch, they did regular or large tea, no prizes for guessing who had what!

Took a picture of the spider outside Bugtopia as I think it is great.

I had a couple more short walks as I went to the sh and then up to the picture framing place. He now has a selection of previously owned collectibles.he had two elephants very reasonably priced. One for a friend and one for me I think!

So, fingers crossed I can continue to walk a bit more unless the legs go into revolt, which is a distinct possibility!

A different memory lane

Last night I used the die that I got at The Range last week and then used one of the large cards that I also got there. I got glue everywhere so will class this as a trial. I used the American colouring pencils again.

I also got a text from Tina saying that trouble was brewing!

This morning Tina was taking a funeral in Hull so she dropped me off at the end of Newland Avenue. I crossed the road first and went onto the offices of a student accommodation place that had taken over Newland Homes. I asked if I could go and take a picture of Titus Salt House Which I had run as an independence training hostel back in the 1990’s. The receptionist was a little surprised at my request but agreed that I could walk into the grounds.

Then I walked the full length of Newland Avenue and beyond, ended up walking for almost an hour before I stopped for coffee! Had to use the walking stick thought which I now carry in my bag in case I need it. Took a few photos, one slightly autumnal.

Tina met up with me at the end of the Avenue and we had a nice lunch before we came home.

My knee was aggravated so I sat and read my book for a while this afternoon.

This evening I visited Sarah and David and heard about their trip to Cambridge. They bought me back a couple of presents, very appropriate!

Feet up now before heading for bed!

Wild sea and fungi

Yesterday I had been working on the jigsaw until cat stopped play for a while on the evening! When she moved ai did stay up until pretty late and was well on the way with it.

At least she didn’t play with the pieces as she did when we first had her!

I went out to feed the birds before seven and it was a beautiful morning. We had decided not to go to the boot sale today so I told 

Darren I would try to walk down to the sea. He said he would meet me there and we could have breakfast at the little cafe. Although my knees weren’t too impressed with me taking a walk I was really pleased that I did as it was on on shore wind and the sea was lively and the tide in. Took loads of photos and will try to get quite a few posted, rather depends on the temperamental blog app!

On the way to the sea I had taken a photo of a bird bath in a garden. I have admired it for months and today I took the picture. It is made out of glass vases and a bowl and had been there for ages.

We had a very nice breakfast in the little cafe which was very quiet and then Darren dropped me off at the shop on the way back so I could get stuff in for dinner. I finished off the jigsaw, a nice one to do and I love anything to do with birds. I will pack it away again in a bit.

I went out in the summer house for an hour or so this afternoon, took a hot drink, a blanket and my book! Both the cats popped in to see me and I read a few of chapters of the book which is both clever and funny. They are very short chapters which I quite like. Coming in I noticed a whole bunch f fungi which hadn’t been there a couple of days ago, obviously flourished in the wet weather!

We have had dinner and relaxing now, will watch Us a bit later.

Nice memory but lazy day

I went back to bed after going out early to feed the birds, something I never do. Stayed for another couple of hours in bed and was just getting up when 

Tina arrived with a cup of tea for me. I have been in all day and have done very little, will probably be aching because I haven’t moved around enough! I meant to put a picture on yesterday’s entry of a memory from five years ago before my brother became ill.

This morning I am not sure if Pandora sensed I wasn’t feeling too bright but she got on my lap for a while which was nice.

I started a puzzle that I got for Christmas and this afternoon listened to Silas Marner while I puzzled. Have done quite a bit more now, but there are some doubles and even trebles of the same bird so it is a little confusing!

I have done quite a lot more than the edge now!

It has been a miserable day outside, not that I have been out in it except for first thing when it wasn’t raining. Darren and I are not bothering to attempt the boot sale in the morning, but hopefully I won’t feel inclined to be in bed half the day!

Feeling weary!

I haven’t felt that bright today but think it is just tiredness, have no particular symptoms. I did get out in the garden for about an hour this morning just doing more hoeing and pruning, and I did go to the shop to get some lunch. Thought about getting the bus to Freeport while the weather is still reasonable, but in the end decided against it. We had some deliveries of bird food so I decanted that into containers in the greenhouse.

I did make a cake this afternoon as I had ingredients that needed to be used. 

Yesterday I got an unusual artists pad in a charity shop in Hull. Just one page had been used and it was only £2. I got some oil pastels a couple of weeks ago at the boot sale so thought it would be a good way to have a play with them.

So this evening I have had a bit of a play, not sure I will ever toake to the oil pastels but it was good to try something else.

Hopefully I will feel a bit brighter tomorrow.

Oh dear, and third time lucky then gorgeous sunset.

This morning I took the bus into Hull, was going to get some keys cut for Tina, had to order the blanks on a Monday. Also she wanted some more bubble bars from Lush. My legs were painful today, so I could have enjoyed the trip more, but it was a beautiful day again. I made my way straight to Timpsons to get the keys but there was a note saying they will be back in forty five minutes. I made my way to Queens gardens, lovely flower beds at the entrance.

Lots of pigeons and a nice shot of the town as I headed back.

Went into Princes Quay as well so got back to have the keys cut about an hour later. Another note had been in saying it would be another half hour! I sat and rested for a bit and then saw the shop opposite. That was the Oh Dear moment!

I walked along to Lush and got the bubble bars and then back to try again. If the shop had still been closed then Tina wouldn’t have got her keys cut! It was open but it was a stand in guy who at first said he knew nothing about any blanks, my heart sank, but thankfully he found them! I went along to a cafe I have been to a couple of times before, it had changed hands and wasn’t nearly as nice but I really needed to sit down and have a drink. Went to Debenhams before I made my way back for the bus trip home.

This evening Tina drove us to Mappleton, a beautiful evening. I will attempt to add a lot of pictures but may have to stop as the blogger app is temperamental.
