More decluttering!

I didn’t go into the garden except for some essential watering this evening. I went to the chemist early and then got lunchrooms as usual. I took the box of things I forgot to sell to the charity shop on the trolley but got someone else to take it into the shop as the trolley was trying to get away again! I started blitzing my cupboards in the kitchen so had another bag of stuff for the charity shop which I took straight there, no chance then of changing my mind.
I did call in to see Sher and took a pic of this amazing jumper with a felted decoration. It was £350 but I cannot imagine wearing it as how could you get it clean, it is really a work of art.
After tea the three of us went to Mappleton and had a wander along the beach. I will finish with several pics, a couple really show how the cliffs are crumbing away.

A productive day

I haven’t felt on top form today, everything a bit of an effort and quite achey but we went to Beverley, we went to a travel agents and I have booked tickets to go to America for Thanksgiving. Been a few years since I have made the journey. I also went to Seasalt and got a really nice rain coat, not cheap but will last me years. We had lunch at a little falafel place,  really lovely salad bowl, so tasty and healthy.
Tina took the car through the car wash on the way home which it interesting. The only photo from our outing was this crochet ice cream cone!
Some photos I took in the garden this morning.
The last pic is of the little cutting I have had for months in water and if you look closely I think it is getting a leaf!
A quiet evening hope to ease the aching!

Just one visit

A change of day for the visits as Tina has a day off tomorrow and we will go out for a bit. I was intending to see Bel this morning instead but she was going to Morrisons with her neighbours today. I went and posted a letter and did some chores while waiting for the different Ringtons man.
I am a bit out of sync but after the button session yesterday I put all the buttons into a box, so probably over 2000 to now sort into different colours.
Tina was officiating at a weeding this morning so we had two vintage cars on the drive.
I walked to Jeans and felt really tired, I really need to up my walking again. I took. Few pics of the sea a it was showing some green today.
This row of house as I walked to Jeans seemed like a very typical seaside sight.
May did a bit of buttons sorting this evening, then again………

Button workshop day

I managed to get everything into my shopping trolley to take them to the hall where the dementia cafe meets. I was there early so that I could refill the party Susan’s in readiness. Then help greet people and take sandwiches round as they have lunch before an activity or entertainment.
About seventeen people in total and to say it was chaotic would not be an understatement. They were too busy chatting to listen to any instructions so I had to explain table by table. The glue bottles had a lid that unscrewed a bit to release the glue but not removed. Some people took the tops off so it was a bit of a sticky mess. Have if said all that most people had a go and there were some nice results.
I emptied all the trays of beads into a box, so when I have a few spare hours I will sort them all into colours again.
I have felt weary since I got home so not much else to say.
Tina has her day off on Friday this week, so I am having my visit day tomorrow, the we can have lunch out of Friday after she has been to the dentist.’

More rain so no watering

I have been thankful for the rain, especially as it is mostly at night, the plants are looking happy and I try to ignore the happy weeds! Sun this morning though and I took a photo of this flower when I went into the garden to check the sunflowers. Despite the strong wind yesterday and rain they are all still standing at the moment.
I went to the banking hub to pay in some coins and when I got home I got the luggage thing(don’t now it’s proper name) and dropped it onto the four wheels to take the box and  other bits left over from Saturday to the charity shop. There is a slope by the  shop and the luggage thing started to roll towards the road and parked cars. I couldn’t grab it but luckily it went between two cars without hitting either of them!
I did go into the garden to get the last ten plants into a bed, and it rained for a while afterwards which was good timing.
The new plants re quite small but hopefully they will flourish now.
Getting lunch I managed to cut my thumb with Tina’s super sharp bread knife, I do have a bit of a history with knives!
I went to see Sarah and David for a while this afternoon, I will see them again tomorrow as the dementia cafe as it is button time!
This evening I have been in church on bodyguard duty while Tina had a wedding rehearsal. Luckily no intruders so all is well!

Slow start but improving

I had an uncomfortable night, had over eaten and paid the price! So I sat in bed and did my daily puzzles on the iPad and then read a bit more of the Salman Rushdie book Knife. Some more buttons arrived and I sorted most of them but gave up on the tiny ones, I will take them to the workshop in case anyone is keen to use them.
After lunch I did go into the garden, the sunflowers in the cold frame were very leggy and needed to go into the ground. I had planted a dozen directly into the ground but none of them germinated, the ones in the cold frame were from the same packed so it must have been due to the strange weather.
There were weeds in the bed but also some self sewn marigolds, so I hoed round them.
I am not sure they will survive the wind and rain, if it comes, as they are so spindly.
I went into the front garden and managed to get twenty of the plants I bought yesterday into the front bed.
I did do some strimming and cleared the worst of the weeds in the walled garden.
I took a few random photos in the garden.
We had fish and chips for tea which was tasty.
It occurred to me the the wooden owl Darren got me on Saturday would be a good shape for a button picture. I used some of the small buttons but it would work with others.
Having a quiet evening now.

Not too lively

I haven’t felt 100% today, the knee is still not right, I have been trying not to limp, and I have felt a bit bloated and uncomfortable. It was a long day yesterday standing around and sitting but not moving much, so maybe that is part of the reason. We did go to the boot sale as usual and I bought a few more plants, but they are still near the back door.
I also got an unusual present for David as it is his birthday in a few weeks. He has very little sight but he is an Arsenal fan, so this should amuse him.
I haven’t done a lot today, got the boxes from yesterday put away and have one box and a bag to take to the charity shop. I got the meals and did some reading. The buttons arrived and they are very small, so have ordered some bigger ones. If anyone wants a button workshop, I am your girl!
I did do another sample as well, a random pattern.
A memory from three years back and one from six years to finish.

WI garage sale

The garage or garden sale organised by the local WI as a fundraiser has become a summer tradition. You pay five pounds to get on the map which people can collect on the morning of the event. Over forty houses took part this year.
MI was outside for about six hours and Darren and Tina took turns to come and keep me company. They did both go for a wander though and Darren got me a lampshade and a wooded carved owl. He was thinking about the lamp that I won in the museum raffle but the fitting is in the wrong place, mlthough you could use it as an uplighter!
Tina got me two nice little succulents.
Nearly forgot the owl!
My right knee has been very iffy today which isn’t good. Hopefully I just slept awkwardly.
I think I mentioned that I got some plastic party Susan’s and have been seeing if I have enough buttons. The photos show four, but I made up six.
I am a bit short of blue and purple ones so I have ordered some more, then I will be putting all the groups of buttons into money bags! The things I get myself into!
I should say that I sold a vast amount of the stuff I had collected together and also made a nice amount of money, so worth the effort.
