This morning Darren drove me to the Mere quite early so that I could have a walk round the lake and read or sketch depending on how the mood took me. As we were leaving I took a picture of the painters who are freshening up the woodwork on the house. One of them was painting my lounge window as we left!
It began drizzling while I walked round the lake and by the time I left it was raining hard. I enjoyed the walk round, I did the longer walk passing the bridges and going round the less walked area as well. I was there at 9.15 am and a lot of the birds were still resting on the banks.
I only saw a couple of fishermen and one dog walker on my way round, it was very quiet.
Despite the weather there were still some great reflections in the water.
As I walked back the swans and ducks were sheltering from the rain.
I liked this pair of swans.
Under the trees I did manage to do a pen drawing which turned out quite well as I am not a lover of trying to capture trees.
I caught the bus back to town and then headed home. This afternoon I printed a few photos for the scrapbook did some ironing and cooked dinner for the three of us. May try and get on with the scrapbook again this evening. Have been watching the Davis Cup tennis, the second match was very good and of course Andy won earlier.
