I did go for a walk this morning, it threatened to start raining again but it was very light. The river look peaceful from the bridge but going over it the wind was so strong that if I had been lighter I would have been blown over!
St Ninians, where I volunteer was festooned in leaves. No branches on the bed I am working on which is good. There were tags and branches everywhere on the way to Dunkeld.Sunday, 25 October 2026

Photo shortage
This morning the three of us had a walk into Dunkeld to stretch our legs before the rain arrived. We had a drink and then made our way back, the rain was just starting as we got home. I took one photo on the way back, still hoping to catch some colour before all the leaves have dropped, which after the wind won’t be long!
This afternoon Tina and I went to a workshop to make a small note book with traditional stitching and a book cloth spine. It was a three hour workshop and we had just about finished in time. Everything was provided and Marion, the instructor took us through every stage and demonstrated. We were so busy that we didn’t stop to take photos and there isn’t one of the finished article either as we had to put them straight under a weight while the glue dried. So picture tomorrow.Friday, 23 October 2026
Bit of craft, bit of sorting
I bought card to make a witches hat yesterday and some stuff to adorn it. The card wasn’t big enough to make the rim or the top with one piece, and search as I did I couldn’t find any so tried holding pieces together with sellotape. That didn’t work so then tried double sided tape. I still need glue which will arrive tomorrow!
So far so good. I made up a couple of the diamond are images.

Haircut and walk
Had my hair cut early and then went for a walk, little bit further today. I went to the river path past the cathedral, took loads of photos but have deleted quite a few so not quite so many to scroll through.
This afternoon I have done some jigsaw and went out to sweep the leaves from the slope leading up to the church which is the way we go into the village. They have got very slippery with the rain.

Wet walk and jigsaw
This morning I took a photo from the porch as the hill was hiding behind the clouds,
I decided to go for a walk anyway and donned raincoat and my allegedly waterproof and slip resistant trainers. Have actually been out in them yet. A couple of photos on the way, the second one is St Ninian’s garden where I volunteer on a Monday. The bonsais are doing their best to look autumnal.I did some jigsaw this afternoon.Flowers arrived this afternoon, Tina being naughty but nice.Another porch picture, the cloud and mist were great.A couple of weeks ago when I was out with Darren we saw a winter hoodie in the Traitors style a Tesco, I resisted temptation then but wished I hadn’t. Darren went and got one yesterday, they only had small or extra large, obviously small would have been no good. I could wear it with Tina in there a well, but I love it!I made up another one of the bread kits Tina bought. Yesterdays was olive and rosemary and todays garlic and herbs. I tried to get it level but they seem to have a mind of their own! I hope it tastes a good s the first one.Relaxing with my Traitors hoodie. Haircut in the morning.

Nothing much doing
It was been a grey and rainy day. I only went out to post a letter and pop to the local shop. Did some washing and chores then thought I would make one of the beer bread loaves that Tina bought to try from the fair trade sale. They have gone past their date, but who cares!
While it was cooking I mixed a sponge as I haven’t made one for a while. The bread looked fine, as did the sponge.Darren had started the jigsaw and I did a little this afternoon.Tina and Darren had been out to Perth and had lunch as Tina is back at work tomorrow.Monday, 19 October 2026
Monday groups
Getting chilly here, frost this morning, so a chilly walk into Dunkeld. A couple of photos on the way.
I decided to start on the front of the bed today as there may be some plants from the hanging baskets that can go in the bed for a while, and that will give a bit of colour. So they would be better ner the front to be seen.It spent over an hour before we stopped for a cuppa then did a bit more before packing up. The weed nd nettles have had time to spread their roots so clearing, even partially will take some time. But one of the other ladies said you could see where I’d been working!Tine drove by when I was half way home so I got a lift, which was nice a I was feeling weary. After lunch I did walk back into Dunkeld for the afternoon group, but hadn’t touched the embroidery all week and didn’t feel inclined to do any today so took one of the small sketch books and a pen. I did do a sketch while I was listening to the chatter. One of the ladies was 99 yesterday and she walks to the hall a she lives nearby, she just uses a stick.
