A big house plant, just what I needed!

I waited for Shane the Ringtons man, he isn’t coming for a month now so didn’t want to miss him today! Had a message from Jayne to say she would come to do the lawns today, but in the afternoon so I went round to see Sher and take her the glass bowl I had bought. She was delighted with it and we had a lovely chat as we handed seen each other for weeks, not since before I went ti Peterborough. I was very taken with a large plant so it is now in my living room.
This unusual plant is in the church yard.
When I got home the veggie box had arrived. They don’t do the small one anymore so this is the ‘essentials’ box.’ Absolutely fabulous, masses of fruit.
When Jayne arrived she did the font lawns while I gathered the twigs off the back lawn. I collect twigs and branches regularly but it never ceases to amaze me how many! This was todays haul!
The lawn looks better but sh wasn’t happy with it as it was so long and wet. She will come and give it another cut early next week.
I started anothe puzzle last night, haven’t done a lot more to it today, may do a bit now.
Went and had fish and chips with Darren this evening, I had plaice which was lovely.
Tina will be home some time tomorrow.

Ouch

When I got up the knee felt okay and I got a couple of loads of washing done. Angela came at just after ten for us to go over to Bemora. I went to the loo and my knee nearly gave out with a terrible shooting pain. That continued for quite a while and I still can’t bend the leg properly. I’m used the stick to get across the road to the cafe.. I took pills when I got home and massaged some gel into the knee then sat with my legs up for a bit.Managed to wash down to see Sarah andDavid for a couple of hours this afternoon,
It has rained on and off all day and the wind has been pretty much at gale force again. Lots of branches down on the lawn again, it’s a wonder there are any left on the trees!
Not really a photo day but I washed the lovely polish glass I bought for 25p, it seemed good then but looks stunning now,
I have been thinking of designing a Christmas card to be printed at the prison! I intend doing a watercolour although I may not get around to it, but did. Few quick sketches this evening, they are very faint.
The rose jigsaw is back in the box. May make a start on the latest one this evening.

Hello to the sea again!

This morning I decided to try and get to the post office and then hopefully to the se front. I had a package to send to Rose, things of hers that made their way onto my bag as we finalised the moving! I did get up to the se front as well. Had a cuppa before heading home nd didn’t make the knee ache too much.
When I got home I went into the garden to feed the birds. That turned into an adventure. The wind was strong today, gale force I should say, so the canopy on the new garden swing was flapping precariously. It is very high so reaching up to release the ties was quite a challenge. Then as I walked towards the greenhouse one of the very large panes was on the ground, thankfully not broken. I have spare clips but always struggle getting them positioned so ended up stabbing myself with one! The wind this time was flattening the sunflowers so I cut a few that were still good and some about to open to bring indoors.
Yesterday evening Darren came and helped with the jigsaw for a while, we ended up going to bed quite late. We got this far and I planned to get it finished today.
It took a surprising mount of time to get it finished but now it is ready to return to the box and go to the charity shop!
Have written a couple of letters this evening and got them posted. Feet up and tv now.

Fairly uneventful day

My knee hasn’t been at its best today so haven’t overdone things. Did nip to the shop and over the road to buy some bits at the Leafy Dragon. They are running out of supplies now as they are closing on Saturday.
The jigsaw that I thought had pieces missing is actually okay. Darren came up a couple of nights ago and I had a piece in the wrong place, making it seem like there were lots of gaps. He spotted the offending piece and the the edge was complete! Not sure whether to be pleased as it is a very tricky puzzle. I did a little last night so will post that. Have managed a bit more today but may try a few more pieces this evening!
I ordered a new garden caddy, which arrived today. A little assembly and the smallest ever instruction sheet, it is about four inches wide!
Took a photo of a flower while out feeding the birds.
I did go out into the garden this evening and spent about half an hour tidying another bed. The garden caddy isn’t so clean now, but it wheels really well.
Tina has gone on a pilgrimage to Walsingham today, a long journey, she will be back on Friday. She has arrived safely and it was bucket img with rain when she got there.

Boot sale and church

Darren took me to the boot sale as usual, our usual breakfast stop was closed so we had our sausage sandwich at a different one, it wasn’t quite so busy today and I managed to get the whole way round. Quite a few bits today, Darren the usual electrical stuff and he spotted a new teapot. I got a gecko and a lizard and a great glass vase to give to Sher.m that was the bargain of the day  at 25p!
Yu can find dvds as cheap as 10p each now so got a couple, and the picture made me laugh out loud nd had to be had for a pound.
I also got a couple of cat mats very cheaply, we use them under their food dishes.
If you look at the blog regularly you will know I have posted spider photos the last couple of evenings, so it was interesting to find this article in the paper yesterday.
This afternoon I went with Bel to the church. The bishop of Hull was taking the service as it was a confirmation for five candidates. But during the service the bishop blessed the lovely kneelers that Bel had made. It was lovely to be with her and they were on display at the front of the church.
When I came back I did spend a while tidying another bed in the garden. Took a couple of pictures of the sunflowers.
I had some new garden clogs arrive today and have a new garden cart coming tomorrow. I aim to keep tidying bit by bit out there!

Spider time!

After the shopping was delivered I went to the shop and then did about an hour in the garden, just tidying the edges of the beds and making it obvious where the lawn finished and the beds started! I thought I would try and take some better photos of the garden spiders, a lot have suddenly appeared.
When I went up to the garden bin Pandora shot up the tree when she heard a blackbird. She is up there somewhere.
An autumn crocus has appeared in the front garden.
I planted up the new perennial plants into some tubs for now to give them room to spread. Will hopefully transplant them into the garden at some points
This afternoon I made some cheese scones for the refreshments after the service in church tomorrow afternoon.
I also had a go at making some chewy biscuits using only three ingredients, apple sauce, peanuts butter and oats. They are quite tasty,
We were having Sunday dinner today because of the service tomorrow afternoon. Tina he ordered a small chicken for me to have a go at cooking it if the air frying using the rotisserie setting. The chicken that arrived so too big for either air fryer or even the top oven, so a quick rethink on the dinner front. Managed to get done in time for Strictly though!
I had a delivery of some crazy chickens for the lawn. They make me smile!
It has been a busy day, so fingers crossed the knee doesn’t play up!

Picking up

My mood, not that I was really aware that it wasn’t what it should be, has lifted today and I have had more inclination to get on with things regardless of iffy knees. I went to visit Bel this morning,  she has felt a bit under the weather this week but was feeling a bit better today. The kneelers she made are being blessed by the bishop at a service on Sunday so I am going to go with her.
Jean came to visit me today as it gives her a break from home where she has had family staying for months now because of damage to their home. She came a bit earlier than usual because she had to be home for an appointment this afternoon. We had a good chat and listened to some John Denver songs.
After she had gone home I decided I was going to try and have a while working in the garden, no before photo but I worked a little way along one of the beds as it had been so overgrown you couldn’t tell where the lawn started.
All being well I will try to slowly get round the beds.
When Tina was home and had her tea we took a ride up to Mappleton, a lovely evening.
Tina had spotted garden spiders near where she parks her car, so took some pics when we got back.

Will finish with a nice sky, not sunset, just cloudy.
