Try to keep optimistic!

Another difficult night, tried the bed as it is nice to lie down but think it will be the recliner again tonight. Despite that I decided that today I would be positive and practice mind over matter, even thought of trying to get to Freeport on the bus. That illusion was soon shattered as I went on an errand around the town trying to get Tina’s prescription made up, no joy at any orphanage the three chemists! The downside of that is that I used the rollator as a seat almost as much as I walked! The upside of all this discomfort is that Pandora is making the most of pinning me down, and at the moment I can still manage to have her on my lap for a while.

But I did decide to remain positive and then ugh I would try to get some of the plants into the garden. The main problem is not actually putting the plants in but the amount of walking I have to do backwards and forwards in out large gardens. So I organised myself and got everything into the wheelbarrow!

I managed to get a fair few in and did a bit of hoeing. The wheelbarrow was a bit emptier then.

I only had about fifteen plants left and went out to the back garden a bit later, but only managed to get half of them in as the knee had really had enough by then. Hopefully will get the rest in tomorrow

This pretty white flower was in the front bed, as well as the lovely Michaelmas daisies..

I think the latest jigsaw will take a while, but should be fun.

Will hopefully get to the boot sale tomorrow, even if ai just have my breakfast sandwich as it means I will get a ride in Darren’s new car.

The usual Friday visitors.

Bel and Jean both came here today. Bel was fine and is looking forward to her nephew visiting from Jersey t the end of the month. 

Jean is having trouble with back pain. She enjoys coming to me as she has family staying long term while work is done on their flat, they have a dog as well, so she is happy to come to me for a bit of peace and quiet! Terry, her husband does a lot of whittling and sent a Santa Christmas ornament for me. He is a very talented man.

I haven’t been out at all today, tried to feed the birds but only did half a job, hopefully fill a few more feeders tomorrow. The leg isn’t good, slept on the recliner last night and will probably sleep there again tonight,

Jayne came to mow the lawns today, I asked if she could stay for next hour to get the plants put into the beds for me, but she hadn’t got time today.

I have started a 1000 piece jigsaw for a change so will do it downstairs on the large dining room table. Good picture, I think my sister in law bought it for me quite some time ago. I have only done most of the edge so far.

Bit of tv and maybe reading this evening.

Out with Tina

Tina had a few things to do before we went out so we set off mid morning. My night wasn’t too good and the leg has been pretty painful all day, so we took the rollator even though we didn’t expect to do too much walking. Tina ahead for a village where she though there was a cafe, but she was mistaken so we carried n and had a little wander round Driffield and had a coffee there, took a picture outside of Rafters, the who I get the veggie boxes from. Tina went in while I had a sit down! Then another pic of a window display, shame about the car reflection!

I sat in the car while Tina went off to visit a shop that is run by a lady that makes the little teddy bears that she likes. No teddy bear today but she bought me lovely doorstop!

We went to the garden centre near Bridlington for lunch as the one near Driffield was very noisy when we went there. Took a photo of the nativity in the entrance, not quite in the same league as the one that appears at Freeport!

On the way back we called in at Mr Moo’s for dessert! Oh dear, not a good place for people trying to watch their weight!

They had sponsored one of the puffins last year and then had the option of buying it. This one wasn’t in Hornsea so I hadn’t seen it before.

So a nice strip and good of Tina to take her decrepit mum in law out! Didn’t even feed the birds today, hopefully will at least manage that tomorrow.

Short and not too sweet!

Not a good night again but managed to stay in the rocking chair until 3.30 am this time. Going to try the recliner tonight! 

The day started quite well. Fed the birds early and then went across to Bemora and had breakfast with Angela which made a nice change, and I do enjoy the super matcha tea!

The only pics today are from before that, two of my furry friend when we sat on the bed before the start of the day.

I went to the very nearest shop and realised that today was going to be a painful one. I had to sit on the stairs for a while while the knee relaxed a bit.

So really, a lot of sitting, doing puzzles and reading and a few basic chores. First full day of the new medication routine so ever hopeful!

Still feeling crafty!

Not a great night, part rocking chair and part bed, maybe all rocking chair tonight. Then today the pain has been more evident so I haven’t been out except for spending some time decanting a huge order of bird food supplies. Pandora came to check out what I was doing, luckily not too many birds around at the time.

The rest of the photos are of my progress with the rather fiddly wooden cello kit. The instructions mentioned several pieces were fragile and there were spares.I did need a couple of the spares en route. I was also nearly tearing my hair out trying to do the stringing! Just a group of pics now.

The finished piece is just seven and a half inches high. Have put it in the display cabinet with the greenhouse interior.

I am hoping the leg will be a little asker tomorrow so I can get a few more plants in.

Damage limitation!

I started to dissemble the clock this morning, I actually broke it down even more that in the picture and started the assembly from the start, this time with the addition of glue!

As the morning was reasonable weather I went to the shop after I had made an appointment to see a doctor in the afternoon. Then I put three plants into each of the tubs in the front garden. No pics as they don’t show up much yet as there is a conifer in each tub. Walked along to see Sher for a while, Mondays are quiet in Hornsea so we were able to have a chat. I like this artists paintings a lot, they are very expensive but I was interested to hear that he hopes to do some sessions at the shop.  Will start saving up as I would like to attend one!

Then back to the clock, got it all together and working. Not sure if the video will run on the blog, but if not it will be a picture! One of its home for now as well. Correction, can’t work out how to find the video!

The pendulum works which is attracting Pandora’s attention! So it may end up in the bin yet……

The leg has been bad today so I left with loads of time to spare to make my way to the surgery. Have to rest a few times but made it okay and saw a very nice lady doctor and will try being back on codeine and paracetamol. She mentioned exercises most of which I do occasionally so will endeavour to do them more regularly. She hasn’t put the new meds on repeat, but if it is helping I can message her and she will sort that out.

Very lovely flower bed on the way there.

As I am in fiddly craft mode I opened up the cello pack. Have made the stand!

Spent some of last night in the rocking chair, may give it a try for the night tonight.

Should have said that Tina kindly came down to the surgery so I didn’t have to walk back in stages!

Mini disaster!

Although the pills still don’t seem to be having much of an effect I decided to try and get some more of the plants into the garden. Actually managed to get twenty eight planted, mostly in this bed but it will look brighter when they start to fill out.

I then thought I would make a start on the clock kit. Pretty fiddly but reasonably easy to follow instructions.

Darren and Tina arrived home and I have presents which is nice. Lovely cushion, delicious fudge and the little birds tweet and are motion activated.

After a break I decided to assemble the clock unit. Didn’t photograph the stages. I set the time for a bit later so that I could put the battery in at six, as moving the hands would mean taking it apart again!

Never got as far as putting the battery in as the bottoms fell off when I moved it! The air was blue. As it is made from card it is difficult to now try and push things together without bending and damaging other bits. I may do some dismantling and reassembling tomorrow or it may be destined for the bin!
