Oh Christmas tree

I had a quiet hour or two this morning as the family were walking the dog or exercising and then we went to Katonah and did some shopping, then hd lunch at a pizza place. I had a salad pizza, whoever knew there was such a thing!

This afternoon we all went to collect the Christmas tree. The Fire department sell them each year as a find raiser.there was a field of ready cut trees all on stands and people couple wander round and choose one. Then one of the helpers trimmed them if necessary and wrapped them, the tied them onto people’s cars. A few pictures now.

Back indoors it took a while to get it in position and then it was decorating time.

Jasper snoozing on a Christmas cushion.

And a lovely evening sky.

We went out for a meal this evening and I had Thai chicken lettuce wraps which were really good.
Now relaxing and won’t be too late to bed.

Black Friday at the mall

I tried to take a picture from the bedroom window but the bug netting made it somewhat unusual!

We left for the Mall at 10am picking up Pat on the way. We were in the all for getting on for five hours and all made some purchases. A few random photos as I wandered around.

Pat and I were ready for a rest when we got home.
We had a family meal again, but leftovers day, there was still plenty to eat.
It was Stevens birthday today so the meal finished with cake.
A quiet evening after a busy day.

Happy Thanksgiving

It has been a busy day, last minute preparations and then a family breakfast of fresh fruit and waffles., then snacking and chatting until the evening meal!

Kate assembling her vegetable turkey which has now been devoured!

And I had to have a photo with Lee in his uniform as her was on call today.
Going to be a lot of people having dinner!

Now some photos from the afternoon/evening.

And me playing charades and an exhausted dog!

A tired goodbye now!

Preparations for Thanksgiving

This morning I had a cuddle with Jasper, he has a sore on the top of his head so has to wear the collar to stop him scratching it.

I went for a walk while everyone else was busy, so a few pics along the way.

Back indoors I was amazed that this large foot stall I covered last time I was here has stood the test of time  and Jasper remarkably well.

After lunch it was a mass bake for tomorrow, I was there too, I made the cranberry bread.

This evening we went out for a meal and then we start the festivities and more eating tomorrow!

It was lovely to see everyone again.

Long day travelling

Left home with Tina before 8am for the drive to Manchester airport, a fairly good journey and a lovely day, took about two and a half hours and we went to the free bus car park. Tina saw me onto the bus into the terminal but was disappointed s you cannot pick up from there,  and that had been the reason for going there so a I knew where to head for. We will decide on pick up before I come home. The airport was quite quiet and I dropped the luggage off and hd plenty of time to get to the gate.

We were on board the plane just after 12.30pm but didn’t actually get away until gone half past one.

The flight was seven and a half hours , but had a nice lunch and a fun afternoon tea!

It was raining when I arrived, there  was a wheelchair waiting so I didn’t have the long walk and queue at passport control. Had a nice surprise a Lee was waiting for me. The drive back was very busy and took over two hours. We have had a chat and something to eat and now it is about 2 am UK time!
Will finish with a wet picture of Whitestone bridge for a change!

Feeling organised

This morning a got a few bits at the shop and then waited for Carol to arrive as she was tidying up my hair today. She chatted away, non stop as usual, mostly about her errant daughter. She wa quite upset when I said we were moving away.

This afternoon I managed to get checked in on line, and achievement for me and then I went to see Sarah and David. Sarah is still having trouble with her mouth where the dentist butchered it a couple of weeks ago!

Walking back the sky was pretty and then a bit later when I went to put stuff  garden bin it was better!

Pretty much ready so just have to make sure I get up in time in the morning! Blog from over the pond tomorrow, all being well.
