I had written some letters yesterday evening and wanted to get them posted. I was up early and took a photo from the laundry room window.
The pavements were covered in snow so I walked very carefully and got there and back safely. This one of shadows on the snow!Tina has not been t all well today but she had told me yesterday that the allotment people were coming to dismantle the greenhouse this morning at ten. I made sure the side gate was unlocked and then went and took tools etc out out of the greenhouse and moved a tree in a pot and an expensive garden ornament that I didn’t want damaged.the snow in the garden was untrodden before I started and was quite deep.
Three cars were on the drive for the mass taking down of the greenhouse. They had it taken down in about an hour and a half, it was a bit worrying watching them carry ones of glass on that snowy ground.A lady was coming to collect her Christmas tree from the church and as far as I knew to collect the sewing machine as well. Tina told me which key I needed for the church, it can be tricky and one time I couldn’t open it before! But today it was fine although the other to the church and the steps were not great so I went very carefully. She told me that she had walked today so wasn’t collecting the machine, hopefully it will be gone soon.
Tina had parcels of books being collected, and as she was poorly today and in bed I started to move some of her ornaments off the wavy cabinet as it needs so be emptied for when the auction house come to collect things, I put the ornaments on the table as I don’t know which ones she intend to keep. There were a lot.
Darren came up to say the sky was unusual so I took some pics, two from the landing window, Darren took the one from a higher window.
We did have a little more snow this afternoon and there is no sign of a thaw, so looks like I will be staying in gain tomorrow.
Tina has been quite poorly today so I hope she is feeling a lot better tomorrow.

I love the first two pics! They’re very good. I had to look hard at the third one. I kept seeing marble with the veins in it 🙂 Glad to hear you took it very carefully this morning. You can’t afford any slip ups, literally, at the moment.
ReplyDeleteAnother busy day for you then. A bit short notice for clearing out the greenhouse. You should have dragged Darren out there to help. You do get some jobs 🙂
They got it down reasonably quickly. Not the sort of job I’d be keen on doing on a day like today. But it’s one less thing you have to worry about now. Shame the machine didn’t go, but hopefully she’ll be back for it.
That is a lot of things you removed from the shelf. I wonder how many pieces will travel up to Scotland?
A lovely pink evening up there. A good way to finish off a day.
Sensible idea staying in tomorrow. Might do that myself.
Hope the Rev feels better tomorrow.
Yes, quite a busy day one way and another. Yes, they did get the greenhouse down pretty quickly and no broken ones panes as far as I could see.
ReplyDeleteThe packages of books were heavy and the guy who picked them up took them both at one up to his vehicle, very impressive.
I am hoping they may take the large draftmans board a well.
Some nice skies, it looks so different when the ground is white.
I certainly hope that Tina is on the mend tomorrow.
