Disappointing morning and gardening

Tina has been holding some sessions this week around loss and grief and today it was at The Dutchess Anne. I went along to take care of the refreshments. Tina was joined by a celebrant and a funeral director, but sadly no one attended the session which was very disappointing for Tina who has done a lot of preparation and advertising. We had driven there but the room was very cold and I decided to walk home to warm up, although it wa a chilly day.

After lunch I decided to go out into the garden. To prepare the bed ner the new fence and reduce the number of plants that I have in pots. The bed doesn’t look too bad but it was very impacted and had had large tiles on top of it, and of course plenty of roots and stones.

I didn’t of course mention the amounted of impacted bulbs!
And I was very pleased that I spotted this knife before I started pulling roots out!
So, and area about as ready as it is going to be!
I had to cut this roots s try as I might I could not find where they led!
Got some of the plants in, so not a bad afternoons work. I was out there about two and a half hours.

This evening I had another try at using the pastels. Could have done with a darker green but I enjoyed trying something different.
Just relaxing now.

  1. A bit of a varied day again. You should never get bored or stuck in a rut as you do some very different things πŸ™‚ It was a shame no one turned up after Tina had taken time to organise it all. I don’t suppose you can force people to turn out though. Sitting around in a place like that soon let’s the cold set in, so walking home at least got your circulation going 😊
Blimey, you’ve got a cuppa in the garden. Have your housemates been looking after you while you’re out there slaving? πŸ˜‚
What is it with you and bulbs? You seem to find them everywhere you dig. The knife could have been nasty if you hadn’t spotted it. I hope it wasn’t one used in a crime and thrown over your fence 😳
I think the bed looks really good after your afternoons work. One more bit complete and you can tick it off the todo list…….then put it on the to hoe list 😊
Enjoy the rest of your evening.

  2. Yes, a varied day and some progress made in the garden which is good. Might give the exercises a miss this evening, I think the hip has had a suitable work out. Darren did bring me out a cuppa which was nice, it’s a pain taking the shoes off to go and make one myself.
There are so many bulbs, tiny ones, I think they are probably snowdrops.
