Last night I did a few drafts of ideas for the glass fusing course today.

This morning I did a bit of re-arranging in the bedroom before I set off for a walk into town. Had a snack in town and then went to wait for the bus. The driver was lovely and said he would stop at the Stained Glass Centre, I just had to ring the bell to remind him.Took some pictures of the 'weeds' in the lane leading to the centre. It was full of flowers, grasses and insects, lovely.

 Four of us on the course, so very relaxed and plenty of time, space and help if needed. Should hopefully have the fused, framed finished article by the weekend.

Tina came over to collect me, which was kind of her and we had a drink together when we got home. She let Charlie out for an explore before she came for me and up until now I don't think he has returned yet. May write a few letters this evening, or may even get back to that sewing!!

Endless beautiful sunsets in Scarborough, yesterday was no exception.

When Tina got home she took me down to the front to see the sunset there. Away from the sun the castle was in the pink!

Seeing the sunset over the sea is just wonderful.

And dramatic as it gets darker.

This morning I don't know where my head was, but it definitely seemed to be detached from me. I couldn't find my phone, Tina had to ring it several times, as I could here it vibrating but still couldn't locate it! Then I couldn't find my keys so took the back door set as Sandy was picking me up to take me to the studio. When we got there I had picked up Tina's bag which had her diary in! Not a great start to the day, should have stayed in bed! I spent hours cleaning and filling the paint pots at the studio, I have said I will go and do them on a Tuesday when I have nothing else on. I had a pile of small bits of dried paint and Sandy suggested we do and experimental plate using them, to see what effect we got. So did a quick plate which will go in the kiln this week.

I sprinkled the pieces on paint that was like the the spray. Can't wait to see that one fired. I took a photo of this valarian with a bee on the way home.

This is Charlie, the new member of the household, he and Colonel seem to be tolerating each other if not exactly friendly!

No Holby tonight, may even watch the EU debate.

This morning I was up late, have been very tired just lately so thought I would try not taking the Naproxen to see if they were the culprit. The ankle still hurts when I have taken them so  worth a try. Back in January I bought a voucher for an afternoon tea at Palm Court for Sandy's 65 th birthday. It has been arranged and postponed several times, but today we actually made it. She picked me up and it was lovely, we were the only ones having the set meal and had a charming waiter. Sandy had picked me up, but I decided to take a walk into town afterwards, as she was going to get her mothers shopping anyway. Indoors I had tried wearing a pair of sandals with a slightly higher wedge heal and they seemed more comfortable so another experiment with the ankle. There was a band playing in town, they do seem to have quite a lot of street performers.

The sandal was beginning to rub so I went into the shoe shop in town that has wider fit shoes.I got another pair of sandals with a heal almost the same size as the ones I was wearing. I didn't put them on straight away and made my way to the cliff top above the north bay. There I decided to change the shoes as I had a blister on my toe!

Managed to get back without any more damage wearing the new ones! It had been really miserable weather this morning, but this afternoon was warm and sunny. Lovely and clear looking over the bay.

There were still threatening clouds in the distance. Took a slightly closer picture of the bay as it was very clear today, nice sitting on the cliff as well as the wind had reduced to be a pleasant breeze.

Earlier in the day Sandy had given me the re-glazed plate, which is now fine to be given as the gift it was intended to be.

So far I have just had two paracetamol today and the ankle is no worse, so fingers crossed. Don't think I feel quite so tired either, but I guess I need to wait and see how it is when I get up tomorrow.

Darren and I went off to the boot sale at around 7 am, starting to set up at about 7.15 am. We were one of the last to arrive so I think they must open the gates well before 7 am, which is what the adverts say. We didn't sell oodles of stuff, but it was pleasant enough, we covered our costs and made a bit and shifted some stuff. Have dropped some off at the charity shop on the way home so a successful venture. The man on the stall next to us made planters and garden ornaments, I bought a little stand, a bit like a ladder to house some bonsai trees and maybe the fairy garden. It is not strong enough for the fairy garden which is pretty heavy, but I have arranged some bonsais on it.

Darren told me about a stall he had seen that he thought was selling fabric. I took a wander down there and got five packs of fat quarters for £5. The cheapest you can usually get one pack is £7 so a bargain. Not the best choice of patterns but for that price a real bargain.

We came home via Sainsbury's as I had a prescription to get made up. Back here we watch the grand prix with Tina and kept out eye on the tennis, which wasn't looking good for Andy but as I type he is on the verge of winning. I did nip out into the garden to put the trees on the stand and took a photo of the new plants I put in the pot that the willow had been in.

We are having dinner together later, Tina is off to sing with the choir soon. Andy has just won!!

No sewing again today, I am slacking! Had a trip out with Tina. She was going to have her hair cut in Hull and I went along for the ride and to keep her company. I had a drink and did a bit of reading int the Tesco cafe, and then began shopping before she joined me to finish the shopping and then head straight home as when has a wedding to preside over this afternoon. When we were out on Thursday I bought an indoor begonia set that was reduced. I thought I would look inside before I went to bed last night and the corms were sprouting although dry and of course very white! So decided to plant them up straight away, knocked a glass off the shelf at about 10.30 pm and it shattered so not as early to bed as planned!

At the studio on Thursday I had the disappointment of the plate, but saw that they had moved the honey pot I painted last year for them as a sample. They haven't got any more so I asked if I could buy it as it was one of my favourite items that I have painted. So now it is back with me, like I need more stuff!

This afternoon I have spent quite a while in the front garden, did so much pruning that I have filled the garden waste bin. When I was trimming the lawn a couple of young frogs hopped away, I am glad I didn't hurt either of them otherwise the grass would have been left to become a jungle! I will put before and after pics, not that it will be obvious how much effort was involved. I did plant a dozen begonias and 15 bulbs as well.

Darren and I are having a stall at the boot sale tomorrow so we have loaded up the car and will be making a fairly early start. No Casualty tonight, football of course.

The new cat arrived last night, he and Colonel have seen each other a couple of times, Colonel hisses and Charlie hides, but no fur flying so maybe they will get to accept each other quite quickly. Had Colonel up here all yesterday evening, but he does seem to accept now that when my gate is closed he isn't coming in. Hasn't tried to get through since I put the material on. Darren and Tina went off early to help Gail out and when they got back Darren and I took some rubbish to the tip. We had quite a bit to go. and I needed a bit of space to work in the back garden.

There were a couple of large boxes to go too, so a good job done. The little bike planter looks nices on the wall in the back, wasn't going to leave that plant in there but it suits it quite well.

I had these new plants to find homes for that we bought yesterday. I got the three large ones done but not the begonias.

The area out the back where all of our trees are was getting really scruffy and needed a good clean and tidy. I had already moved about three pots out.

This is the willow tree and the new, larger pot that I had to transfer it to. It kept drying out and we have almost lost it a couple of times. I got a new bag of compost for trees and it used all of that ana the half a bag I already had of general compost to fill the new container! I also added water retaining crystals.

A pretty large pot, as you can see. Let's hope the willow is a happier tree from now on. Here it s in the new pot and in a much tidier yard!

There were two baby frogs inside a large ceramic pot trying to get out, so I set them free and then saw another tiny one hopping about. Have put a seed tray with a little water under the bonsai tree stand, as that is the way they were headed. I wonder if they are the young of the frog we had in residence for a while. I made up a flask and got my book and decided to try and walk to the glen, as my ankle hadn't seemed too bad. I was mistaken, it was very painful and I nearly came straight home, but decided to try and get to the first part of the glen as I had squirrel and bird food with me. It looked lovely as always.

I did feed some squirrels.

Off out with Tina to see Godspell tonight at a local church. Feeling tired and may not do anything to the book bags today.

Last night I made material 'curtains' for the pet gate, it seemed to keep Colonel out over night. Although this evening I have him locked in up here with me, but less about that later!!

This morning I laid out the assembled squares, and will be able to make five book bags.

Tina dropped me off in town of her way out, I wanted to go to the material shop to see if I could get some more of the fabric I had used for my book bag. She spent ages looking for it as she thought they had a little left. She found a similar one, but then, in the window found the end of the roll of the one I was looking for, so I bought the two metres that were left. I walked through town and to the studio. the plate was out, but the kiln had malfunctioned during the firing and did not reach full heat. So the plate is quite pitted, can't see it to well in the photo, but not great as a gift.

A shame, because the painting of the church and the writing had come out really well. When Tina got home we went to Deans as I needed to get a bigger pot for the willow tree, as it keeps drying out and I have almost lost it a couple of times. Took this picture of allium complete with bee while we were there.

When we got back I peeled potatoes ready to make a couple of cottage pies later, then we were off to the church where I was on guard duty while Tina had a wedding rehearsal. Did a quick sketch while I was there.

Didn't have a lot of time! Back home I made the cottage pies, one for Darren's dinner and some of it for the freezer, and the other for a friend of Tina's who has been in hospital recently and was then bereaved as well. Darren got home with the three year old car, hence me having Colonel up here out of the way. I think the plan is to introduce them later when Tina gets home, but it may not be until about 10 pm.
