Fairly busy day

This morning I went out into the garden to at least get the prepared square planted up, it was a bright but very cold morning. I took the photo of the plants, not too many for now!

I did get the bed planted up before setting about the bed under the bushes.

I started to work along from where I had stopped the other day, when I had cleared the corner a bit I decided this unsightly bush needed to come out.
This turned out to be more of a challenge than I had thought. It really didn’t want to budge, and o had trouble finding the roots that were stopping it from moving. I trimmed it back and eventually managed to turn it over.
I haven’t filled the hole in heat as I will need to find the rest of the roots.
I perhaps did a yard more of first de rooting but the whole area I have done will need much more clearing .
After I had cleared the tool away and had a bit of lunch I walked to Dunkeld to get some fresh vegetables to make up a stir fry. The greengrocer wasn’t open, another shop that says it has vegetables didn’t have any so ended up at the Co-op. There was a reasonable selection. It had rained, not sleet but very icy on the way there but was dry gain on the way home. Snow hd been a possibility this afternoon.
After tea Tina drove us up to the Hermitage, it hailstoned for a few minutes there, but cleared quickly.. it was nice to go at a different time of day.
We wondered if that had been the work of a beaver, a very shredded tree trunk!

Feeling pretty achy this evening and frustrated with the printer! But not intending to do much more this evening.

Sorting cards and a couple of outings.

This morning I started going through all the cards and notelets that I have collected. I do write to folk quite a lot but the amounts I have are silly. Some will go to the charity shop a nd the ones that I have bought  because I like them particularly I put in a pile and thought I would stick them all to a large piece of paper to go on my bedroom wall. Tina had a reasonably clear day today, she spent quite a while helping me apply for my Scottish bus pass. So pleased she helped me, left alone I wouldn’t be getting one!

Before I forget, Pandora sits on my lap, well, more like my legs in the morning when I m doing my daily on line word puzzles. She digs her claws into my legs and I have spotted blood spot legs as a result! So I decided to put a throw over my legs this morning. Amazingly she laid with her head near to me,  very unusual, and no pin pricks today!

With the bus pass applied for we went off to find a plant nursery, genuinely in the middle of nowhere! We did find it but sadly there was nothing there that caught our eye today. We were then ready for a drink and something to eat. We drove into two places that hd signs out but weren’t open, so we ended up at a Scottish chocolate making place that had a cafe inside. Well, bit posh to call a cafe, but not a restaurant. We had a very naughty chocolate and cake lunch! Tina also bought some of their lovely truffles nd a bar of chocolate for me. A couple of photos from inside and a water bed outside.
We came home for a while, had a cuppa and watched a Bargain Hunt then we went to a B&Q and bought a small garden fork and some plants, a picture of them tomorrow. There was the beginning of a rainbow on the way home.
We had some tea and then I started cutting up the cards that I had kept and arranging them on a piece of A3 paper. I have them stuck on now and even managed to get it onto the wall in the bedroom. Near the bed as I was sitting on it!

Have just cleared up all the debris! Will sit quietly for a bit before bed. Gardening tomorrow, wether permitting.

The Birks at Aberfeldy

This morning I pottered in the house, refreshed the water in the posy which is still looking pretty and moved a couple of small pictures to hang on white photos of birds up, then hung the others again. Photos of the posy, one of the one I wanted to hang and a few of my sitting room which is almost there!

The one on the floor at the bottom of the last photo hasn’t got a home!
Tina had a lunch appointment in Aberfeldy today so she dropped me off I. The town to have a look round and was going to pick me up at the same place in a couple of hours. I had lunch in a nice little cafe we had gone in the other time we went to Aberfeldy. Then I went for a walk and happened upon The Birks.
Quite an enchanting place to walk through.

These stones had a poem on.

The seats in the wall round the statue also had verses on. I tried to do a sketch from the other side which is not great but should put them all on regardless!
Tina picked me up as arranged. Just before we had left flowers in a box arrived, which Tina had sent for. I got them out and into a vase as soon as we got home. The ones that are drooping a bit in the photo have already perked up.
We had a light tea and I will write a couple of letters this evening and maybe a bit of patchwork.

At the Hermitage with Darren

This morning Darren drove me up to the Hermitage, he hadn’t been there before and enjoyed his first visit. We walked up to Ossians hall and took a selfie from the viewing point, then had a wander to the bridge and by the river. I took photos with the trees covered in moss! It is quite something.

We found some different benches that I could do some sketching from, then we walked back to the car park nd had a drink of hot chocolate and a delicious donut! When we got home Drren got on with getting his stuff together and I began to sort lunch. Tina was home in good time ns we had lunch then Seeen set off soon after one. He is home safely now, he got there before eight.
I did do some gardening this afternoon but no photos as it is will be even more boring that it was in Hornsea! Yesterday evening and this afternoon I started using some of the material I bought yesterday to do some patchwork. I have done two ‘flowers’ and this evening have cut out some more pieces to get onto card and sew some more,

Watching Roman Holiday now, pair of my favourite actors, so a nice way to spend the evening,

Trip to Blairgowriei

The three of us went to Blairgowrie today, a really nice little town. We had a good wander round, had a drink in a delightful book shop, very unusual and quirky. Later on we had a nice lunch. A few pics.

We went to a shop called The Nest, it has masses of craft stuff a really low prices, stopping stuff going to landfill and they take in unused and unwanted stuff donated by crafters. Run by volunteers.
I got this bunch of goodies for £7.
I also bought some walking poles while we were there, an unmatching pair of course!
When I got home my Comic Relief t shirt had arrived, the back is more fun than the front which just has a small image.
Darren and Tina went to the Lock of the Lowes but I took a chair onto the porch and read for a while and Pandora enjoyed a bit of fresh air.
Have started a bit of patchwork this evening, photo tomorrow.
