Busy boot sale

Darren and I were away to the boot sale at 7.30am and it was crowded already when we got there with some sellers still arriving. After our breakfast sandwich we started looking round, I didn’t do the whole think as the field was uneven and very muddy which wasn’t good for my painful knee. I got a lovely duck ornament and a book for 50p each and Darren got some bits for his projects and we got a couple of bits for Tina.

Darren got me a stunning otter ornament which was considerably more than 50p!

I was up early to make sure Tina was up and ready to go to her sunrise service, so have been quite weary, and didn’t want to do much and aggravate the knee as I did a bit more walking y Easter day. I went out to feed the birds and found my store open and the tub that had been full of fat balls upended and empty. The squirrels had gnawed enough of the top away to enable them to hook one of the doors open! No shops open so couldn’t get
Darren to take me out to get more fat balls! I have tried to wedge the door but don hood out much hope!
Tina cooked a very nice dinner and this evening I have been reading the new book. May even get inspired enough to ‘tap to tidy’!

Burton Constable with Darren

Although my leg has been quite sore today I used a support, not the one that arrived yesterday, and decided to go with Darren to Burton Constable. The archery club had a ‘Have A Go’ event and he was going along to help. Before we left I took a photo of the bed with the magnolia in. Hard to believe that that corner was a mess of dogwood bushes when we move in.
I did have a go at the archery but Darren didn’t take a picture, one of the event anyway.
I decided to become a member again and made my way to the house and had a walk round it.

When you are a member you get a discount in the shop. One of my bird baths has disintegrated and they had some really nice ones there, so I bought one and have put it out in the garden.

I sorted a simple meal as Tina has services and events all weekend, but I am resting the achey leg now and hope it doesn’t end up like last Sunday with me unable to walk!

Bad start, sunny finish!

This morning the lack of progress and thoughts that maybe there wouldn’t be any had me in a pretty down frame of mind. I set about doing some tidying as I had piles of stuff in my living room from when I wasn’t really moving at all.  Then went down and did a few chores downstairs. After lunch I decided to go out and top the bird feeders up as they were all empty, then I had a walk round the garden. The flowers have come on as it is almost a week since I was out there, the weeds are flourishing too but a bit behind! Took some photos, it is looking pretty.
First photo is of the trusty garden cart I painted and planted some years ago, the shrubs are doing fine.

I sat on the swing for a while and took a pic of the rockery.
I ordered a different knee support yesterday and it came this afternoon. It is quite different from anyI have had before and I wore it for a couple of hours and I tried to take a photo of my knee!
I think it made the knee feel a bit more stable but not the most comfortable thing to wear.
This evening Tina suggested a drive out when she got back from her service. We went to Mappleton and it was lovely to go there, and then a drive home at sunset.

Those two from the car, I know the second one is out of focus with too much zoom, but it is funky!

We did the shopping order when we got home and I have rested the leg watching tv since.

Change of scene!

Today I packed up what I might need for the day and went downstairs. Took it steady and managed quite well.
Did a couple of light chores and a lot of crosswords.
Really not much else to say. The knee is a bit sensitive now so no more moving about unless absolutely necessary. It was good to be downstairs but no crafty pics this time. Took one shot of the garden from the kitchen window.
Will add a picture of me with a very young Darren (young me as well, come to that). It is Darren’s birthday over the weekend so a good time to post it!
I am hoping I can stay awake while watching Annika later.

Slightly better, bit of playing!

I had a really bad night, but I think my leg is fractionally better so have been making drinks and moving a little more, but still going to take it very steady.
I downloaded an app onto my iPad so the I could watch Annika which I enjoyed and have found a Martin Shaw program that I have started watching.
I had a play with some pens last night, started with trying to draw. Guitar shape.
Then today I tried using some metallic watercolours that I bought in Boyes a few weeks ago, can’t really see the sheen on the photo.
If the leg is the same or a bit better again tomorrow I may try and get downstairs for the day.

Getting shorter!

Not a lot to report. Pretty much chair sitting again today. Tina took a nice photo on the way to morning prayer.
Sat and had a bit of a play with the pens, did think it could be a funky background for a card. Took a little while and kept me amused!
I did manage to get a telephone appointment with a doctor today, he has prescribed stronger anti inflamatories and another pill to stop them upsetting my stomach. If that doesn’t help I will have to get to see a doctor but fingers crossed they will help.
Will finish with a picture from one year again, that was a great show and I loved meeting Diversity!
Pandora has actually gone downstairs a bit today and even went out for a while which is good, she is back with me now though!

Still chair bound!

Last night Pandora was on my lap after being near me all day. The picture was yesterday evening but she is on my lap again now.
Today has been pretty much in the chair again. Tina kept me well supplied with snacks and drinks and I had the tv and puzzle book.
But this afternoon I decided to get a bit crafty, nothing spectacular but kept me occupied for a while.

That’s it for today, fingers crossed for a bit of improvement for tomorrow.
